Our time has come

Next week we will begin our travels. Looks like we will be going to Asheville NC and we may hit up Raleigh NC, Charleston SC, and Savannah GA. But we will be visiting our families on the Western part of the state so we will have to see if we make it to the Eastern Coast again.

I have begin marking destinations on Google Maps, and right now I have Long Beach CA, Redwood National Forest, Las Vegas, and New Orleans marked. It looks like we will roughly be following 40West but detouring to follow along Old Route 66 here and there until we get to California. But we are trying to spend a good bit of time along the way in AZ and where ever else we like.

Do you have any suggested destinations for me?

  4. Nick's right. Slab City and Salvation Mountain. Marfa, TX. Oddly, Palm Springs is worth seeing. Then you can hit Long Beach and start up the coast. Hit Big Sur en route to San Fran. If you make it to San Fran, stay in touch on VW Camper Family and we'll meet up with you for a campout!

  6. Hey Laura Anne, we really are looking forward to meeting up with you in the future. We will email you for sure when we get to NC :) We will be in Georgia for a week or so after that. The slabs is an interesting place, it is great to check out for sure if you haven't seen it and don't have compromised lungs. Mine didn't fair well there. We will be spending a lot of time in AZ and NV most likely during the winter. You are going to have a great time!
